RESERVES OUT OF LUCK

Shire's reserve team concluded their League Cup section with a narrow 1-0 defeat at the hands of Partick Thistle.

The side, which included a clutch of the under-17's, gave as good as they got against the Jags but couldn't prevent the visitors scoring in the last minute when Shire keeper Norrie McIntyre failed to hold a long range free-kick allowing Thistle's trialist to score with the rebound.

It leaves Shire pointless after completing their seven game programme.
