JIM MEAKES HAY SIGNING

The club has made a new addition to the playing staff for the 2008/09 season, signing former Stirling Albion midfielder Paul Hay.

The 27 year old was released by the Forthbank club following their relegation from the First Division, after eight seasons on their books.

In that time Paul made more than 200 first team appearances for Albion , 15 of them in last season's First Division, and it's that kind of experience that prompted Shire coach, Jim McInally, to make a move for him.

"I'm delighted to have persuaded Paul to sign for the club," said Jim. "All the more so because he had offers to go elsewhere.

"He is a very good quality player and will be a great addition to our squad for the coming season.

"Paul is a player I  have admired and we made an enquiry about bringing him here almost as soon as the season was over, but things went a bit quiet and it was only recently he got back in touch.

"We know he's a good player and hope he does well for us."
